Planning Commission Rejects Density Increase
The Fairfax County Planning Commission met on June 30 and considered a number of proposals, including the proposal for increasing density along Arlington Boulevard between Cedarwood and Aspen Lanes. The Commission voted to retain the current Comprehensice Plan language which calls for single-family residential zoning at up to 3 units per acre ("R-3"). This action is effectively a rejection of the proposed change. Under the county's process, the Planning Commission's decision on this matter is final during this Area Plans Review cycle, meaning this proposal will not be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors.
We thank those who participated in the process and contributed to this outcome, which was aligned with the association's position, reflecting the desires of the vast majority of Sleepy Hollow residents.
